The Alfa Romeo Giulia Spider followed the success of the Giulietta Spider as Alfa Romeo’s more powerful and refined open-top sports car of the 1960s. The name “Giulia” derives from the Latin Julius, meaning “youthful,” but within Alfa Romeo it also represented the evolution of the smaller Giulietta into a faster, more mature grand touring car.
The Giulia Spider delivers a more confident and relaxed driving experience compared with the earlier Giulietta. Powered by a 1.6-liter twin-cam inline-4 producing approximately 92 horsepower, it combines lightweight construction with noticeably stronger acceleration and improved high-speed stability. A 5-speed manual gearbox and responsive steering give the car the direct feel Alfa Romeo became famous for during the 1960s.

The Giulia Spider delivers a more confident and relaxed driving experience compared with the earlier Giulietta. Its lightweight chassis and responsive steering still provide the direct connection Alfa Romeo became famous for, but with noticeably stronger acceleration and greater high-speed stability. The twin-cam inline-four engine revs freely and rewards smooth driving inputs, particularly on winding roads and long touring routes.
On the road, the Giulia Spider feels balanced, mechanical, and engaging without becoming demanding. It captures the essence of the Alfa Romeo Giulia oldtimer: elegant, responsive, and designed for drivers who enjoy movement as much as destination.
