Friuli and Adriatic Coast Driving Experience – Alfa Romeo
Prosecco Hills, Coastal Villages & Adriatic Panoramas
About This Tour
Drive a classic Alfa Romeo Spider through the Adriatic borderlands of Italy, Slovenia, and Croatia. This guided classic car tour explores coastal roads, karst mountains, medieval towns, and historic ports shaped by both Italian and Austro-Hungarian influence.
From Trieste to Rovinj, the route combines winding seaside drives with regional cuisine, hill towns, and grand Adriatic scenery. Behind the wheel of a vintage Alfa Romeo, experience one of Europe’s lesser-known but most rewarding touring regions.
Arrival in Friuli-Venezia Giulia and transfer to the countryside hotel. After the driver briefing and introduction to the Alfa Romeo Spider fleet, your first drive heads through quiet roads toward San Daniele del Friuli, famous for its world-renowned Prosciutto di San Daniele.
The afternoon combines relaxed driving, rolling hills, and the first taste of the region’s culinary traditions.
Today’s Alfa Romeo drive follows scenic country roads toward Trieste and the Adriatic coast. Stops include the medieval town of Cividale del Friuli and its famous Devil’s Bridge before continuing along the dramatic coastal roads of the Istrian Karst.
After lunch overlooking the sea, the route crosses into Slovenia and Croatia before arrival at the Kempinski Adriatic resort.
The coastal roads of the Istrian peninsula offer one of the most enjoyable driving days of the tour. Your Alfa Romeo Spider winds south through seaside villages and rolling Adriatic landscapes toward Rovinj, often called the “Pearl of the Adriatic.”
Historic harbor towns, Mediterranean scenery, and relaxed seaside dining define the day before returning to the hotel for dinner overlooking the coast.
The final day explores Trieste, one of the most distinctive cities in Italy. Once the primary port of the Austro-Hungarian Empire, the city blends Italian atmosphere with Central European architecture and café culture.
Following a guided visit through Trieste’s historic center, transfer to the airport or hotel concludes the journey.

Friuli-Venezia Giulia & the Adriatic Borderlands
Friuli-Venezia Giulia sits at the meeting point of Italy, Slovenia, Austria, and the Adriatic Sea. The region combines alpine landscapes, coastal roads, vineyards, and historic towns shaped by centuries of cultural exchange.
For classic Alfa Romeo touring, the area offers quiet roads, varied scenery, and a relaxed driving rhythm rarely found elsewhere in Europe.
Trieste & Habsburg Heritage
Trieste developed as the main maritime gateway of the Habsburg Empire and still carries the atmosphere of an imperial port city. Grand piazzas, historic cafés, and Adriatic views define the city today.
Landmarks such as Piazza Unità d’Italia and Miramare Castle reflect Trieste’s unique position between Italian, Central European, and Mediterranean culture.
Istria, Coastal Roads & Mediterranean Cuisine
The Istrian peninsula stretches across Croatia and Slovenia with dramatic coastal scenery, Roman ruins, fishing villages, and vineyards overlooking the Adriatic Sea.
The region is known for truffles, olive oil, seafood, Prosciutto, and wines including Malvazija and Ribolla Gialla. Combined with cliffside roads and Mediterranean views, Istria remains one of Europe’s hidden gems for classic car travel.
