Mille Miglia Tribute – The start in Brescia

Mercedes-Benz touring at the heart of Mille Miglia week

June

About This Tour

Join us on this extraordinary four-day journey and experience the Mille Miglia 2026, “La corsa più bella del mondo,” right from the starting line in Brescia. Behind the wheel of our iconic Mercedes-Benz SLs, you will traverse the stunning coastal roads of Lake Garda, savoring the region’s finest culinary delights.

1
Exploring the Lugana Vineyards

You’ll be welcomed at Verona Airport in the late morning and transferred to your stylish hotel, the A-ROSA south of Salò. That afternoon, your personal Mercedes-Benz classic awaits – ready for its first warm-up along a scenic route through the Lugana wine region. A highlight awaits at the historic winery Perla del Garda: a guided tour of the cellars, followed by a tasting of their finest Lugana wines. The evening is yours to enjoy at leisure – perhaps on the terrace with a glass of white wine and lake views.

Into the Hidden Valleys: The Secret of Lake Idro

After breakfast, we leave the familiar shoreline behind and head into the hills. The route winds west into the mountains, far from the crowds – along narrow roads and sweeping bends through the silent beauty of the Valvestino Valley. By midday, we reach Lake Idro, a serene alpine lake untouched by tourism. The afternoon brings another hidden gem: the return drive along the remote Valvestino valley, reconnecting with the lakeshore near Gargnano. We gather in the evening for a relaxed Aperitivo on the hotel terrace, where the light fades slowly behind the hills.

Alpine Roads & Island Elegance

This morning begins with a detailed roadbook briefing before heading out toward the Alpe del Garda. Endless serpentines and car-free country lanes guide us through dramatic mountain landscapes. A coffee break in Limone sul Garda offers a welcome pause with a view. From here, we follow the lakeside road to Riva del Garda, the northernmost town on the lake, where you’re free to enjoy lunch on your own. In the afternoon, we cross the water by boat to visit the enchanting Isola del Garda – a private island with gardens, history, and unforgettable charm. The grand finale: our farewell dinner at Villa Arcadio, perched high above the lake, where candlelight, fine wines and panoramic views complete the evening.

The Mille Miglia 2026 in Brescia

Today marks the start of the “world’s most beautiful race” in Brescia. After breakfast and check-out, we’ll take you to the heart of Brescia. Pre-war cars will be lined up on Viale Venezia hours before the official start, giving you the perfect chance to get close to these exclusive sports cars and their drivers. Military bands will play the Italian anthem, and the aerobatic team “Frecce Tricolori” will color the sky with the national colors. The excitement builds as nearly 400 teams set off from the starting ramp onto the city circuit, offering plenty of time to chat about cars and admire the vintage beauties. We’ll then transfer you to Verona Airport or back to your hotel if you’ve chosen to extend your stay.

Italy

It is one-third smaller than Lake Constance, but still the largest lake in Italy and is the dream spot of many holidaymakers from up north for decades: Lake Garda or “Lago di Garda,” as the locals call it. The 150 km long coastline is shared by three Italian regions, Lombardy in the west, Veneto in the east, and the region of Trentino-South Tyrol in the north. The year-round mild climate make this lake feel so predestine along the southern edge of the Alps as a holiday destination. Mild winters, hot summers and an annual average temperature of 15°C (~63°F) are also the reason why there are some very well-known wine-growing areas around the lake. To the east of the lake, known as the ‘Riviera degli Olivi,’ the Bardolino and Soave area, in the southeast towards Verona the Valpolicella, and in the south near Desenzano del Garda the Lugana are all many vast growing areas.

Lake Garda looks back on a long and eventful history, from the pile dwellings in the area of today’s Torbole (now a World Heritage Site) to the Romans, who defended themselves against invaders from the north during the time of the Great Migration, to the Middle Ages, as the Lords of Verona who have built Scaligeri, castles in the eastern and south-eastern areas. The struggle for supremacy between the Doges of Venice and the Milanese Visconti, when the former had a series of galleys transported from the Adige Valley over the mountains and ultimately won the day, became legendary at the beginning of modern times. The French and Habsburgs later fought here, and the decisive battle of Solferino in 1859 near the south bank paved the way for the unification of Italy. It only became politically explosive shortly before the end of the Second World War, when the deposed fascist leader Mussolini founded the “Repubblica Sociale.” Now, since the 1950s, “conquerors” have been coming from abroad with much more peaceful intentions – as vacationers.

A large part of the visitors to Lake Garda come in July and August, the choice of the routes therefore makes it possible to slow down and relax behind the wheel of our vintage cars at the start of the “Mille Miglia 2026” in June. Panoramic routes such as the “Gardesana” on the “Riviera dei Limoni” alternate with remote mountain routes around Monte Baldo, which are mainly for mountain bikers and climbers. Visits such as the “Vittoriale” in Salò or tastings round off the program, which comes to an end in neighboring Brescia with the start of the “most beautiful race in the world”, the “corsa più bella del mondo”.
