May, September, October

About This Tour

Discover the timeless beauty of Tuscany behind the wheel of a classic Mercedes-Benz SL. This elegant driving tour combines scenic country roads, medieval hill towns, celebrated wine regions, and refined Italian hospitality with the unmistakable style of a vintage Mercedes roadster. From Chianti vineyards and cypress-lined lanes to Renaissance cities and hidden agriturismos, this is Tuscany exactly as enthusiasts dream it should be.

1
Chianti & First Miles

Your Tuscan journey begins with a transfer from Florence Airport to Borgo Scopeto Relais, a beautifully restored estate surrounded by vineyards with sweeping views toward Siena. After lunch on the terrace and a relaxed introduction to your fellow travelers, it’s time to meet your classic Mercedes-Benz SL.

Your first drive leads through the rolling hills of Chianti, where quiet roads wind past castles, olive groves, cypress avenues, and world-famous wineries. The effortless elegance of the Mercedes perfectly matches the landscape — refined, relaxed, and unmistakably Italian. Along the route, you stop at one of Tuscany’s historic wine estates for a tasting before returning to the hotel in the golden evening light.

Pienza, Montepulciano & the Crete Senesi

Today’s route showcases Tuscany at its most cinematic. You drive through the Crete Senesi, a landscape of soft clay hills, winding roads, oak groves, and isolated farmhouses that feels almost untouched by time.

The highlight is Pienza, the Renaissance “ideal city” created for Pope Pius II. During a guided walk, you explore elegant palaces, quiet alleys, and panoramic viewpoints overlooking the Val d’Orcia. Later, your Mercedes-Benz SL carries you past vineyards and hill towns toward Montepulciano before returning through some of southern Tuscany’s most scenic roads.

In the evening, dinner awaits at a charming agriturismo known for authentic Tuscan cooking, local wines, and warm countryside hospitality.

Volterra, San Gimignano & Tuscan Back Roads

Drivers will especially love today’s stage. The route stretches through one of Tuscany’s most varied landscapes: medieval castles, cypress-lined ridges, remote monasteries, and panoramic roads made for classic grand touring.

Passing San Gimignano’s famous towers, you continue to Volterra, one of Tuscany’s oldest hill towns and renowned for its alabaster craftsmanship. During a guided visit through the atmospheric old town, you discover artisan workshops and layers of Etruscan, Roman, and medieval history.

The afternoon drive returns through vineyard-covered hills and the rugged “Ore Mountains,” once rich in mineral deposits prized by the ancient Etruscans. Back at Borgo Scopeto, an aperitivo overlooking Siena provides the perfect ending to another unforgettable day behind the wheel.

 Siena & Farewell to Tuscany

Your final morning is dedicated to Siena, one of Italy’s great Gothic cities and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Narrow medieval streets lead to the famous Piazza del Campo and Siena’s magnificent black-and-white marble cathedral, celebrated for its extraordinary artistic detail.

After time to explore the city and enjoy one final taste of Tuscany, the group transfer returns you to Florence Airport. What remains are memories of elegant roads, timeless villages, exceptional cuisine, and the unique pleasure of touring Tuscany in a classic Mercedes-Benz SL.

Italy

Tuscany is one of Italy’s most iconic driving regions — a landscape of vineyards, cypress-lined roads, olive groves, medieval villages, and rolling hills that seems made for classic motoring. Quiet country lanes connect historic towns such as Siena, Volterra, Montepulciano, and San Gimignano, while the celebrated wine regions of Chianti and the Val d’Orcia provide some of Europe’s most beautiful touring roads.

The region’s cultural heritage is equally rich. Gothic cathedrals, Renaissance palaces, fortified villages, and ancient Etruscan settlements appear throughout the landscape, blending naturally into the countryside. Many of the roads on this journey were once used during the legendary Mille Miglia, adding another layer of automotive history to the experience.

Tuscan cuisine reflects the region itself: simple, authentic, and deeply rooted in tradition. Handmade pasta, local olive oil, pecorino cheese, grilled meats, and rustic breads are paired with some of Italy’s finest wines, including Chianti Classico and Brunello di Montalcino.

Touring Tuscany in a vintage Mercedes-Benz SL captures the essence of classic European travel — elegant driving, exceptional scenery, and the freedom to slow down and enjoy every curve, village, and vineyard along the way.
