Provence and French Riviera Grand Driving Tour – Mercedes-Benz
Lavender Fields, Riviera Glamour & Mediterranean Roads
About This Tour
Experience Provence and the French Riviera from behind the wheel of a classic Mercedes-Benz SL. This luxury driving tour combines lavender fields, mountain roads, Mediterranean coastlines, and legendary Riviera destinations including Nice and Monaco. From the hilltop villages of Provence to the yacht harbors of the Côte d’Azur, each day brings scenic roads, regional cuisine, and elegant hotels paired with the comfort and timeless style of the Mercedes-Benz SL.
We welcome you at Marseille Airport before introducing you to the historic port city on a guided tour. Discover the Old Port, the narrow streets of Le Panier, and panoramic views from Notre-Dame de la Garde. In the late afternoon, we continue into the Provençal countryside to your elegant hotel, the Moulin de Vernegues, surrounded by plane trees and lavender landscapes. In the evening, meet your fellow travelers over a welcome dinner in preparation for your Mercedes-Benz driving adventure.
Today you take the wheel of your classic Mercedes-Benz SL for the first full driving stage through Provence. Quiet country roads lead through the Alpilles, past abbeys, vineyards, and lavender fields toward Avignon, the historic “City of the Popes.” After time to explore the medieval center, the route continues into the Luberon and the hilltop village of Gordes. The evening concludes with wine tasting and dinner at Château La Coste.
Your Mercedes-Benz classic car tour continues into the Camargue, one of southern France’s most unique landscapes. Flamingos, white horses, wetlands, and open skies create a striking contrast to the hill villages of Provence. Before entering the nature reserve, enjoy time in Arles, famous for its Roman amphitheater and connection to Vincent van Gogh. The relaxed pace and open roads make this stage especially rewarding behind the wheel of the Mercedes-Benz SL.
Today’s route showcases the quieter side of Provence. Extensive lavender fields, winding vineyard roads, and hilltop villages define the landscape as your classic Mercedes-Benz glides through the Luberon region. Crossing the Durance River, you continue along scenic backroads toward Lourmarin and the castle route of Provence. Lunch is served at a traditional auberge known for some of the region’s finest aged beef.
After breakfast, we travel to Grasse, the world capital of perfume. During a guided visit, discover the history and craftsmanship behind the fragrances that made the town famous worldwide. In the afternoon, we arrive in Nice, capital of the Côte d’Azur. Explore the lively old town, seaside promenades, and Mediterranean atmosphere before gathering for dinner overlooking the Riviera.
Today is dedicated to Monaco and Monte Carlo, icons of Riviera glamour. Visit the legendary Monte Carlo Casino, the Prince’s Palace, and the Oceanographic Museum overlooking the sea. Along the coast, panoramic roads and Mediterranean views make this another memorable day of classic touring. Before returning to Nice, we stop at Villa Ephrussi de Rothschild, one of the Riviera’s most elegant historic estates.
After breakfast, we transfer you to Nice Airport for your onward journey home. We hope to welcome you again for another classic Mercedes-Benz driving experience through Europe.
France
Provence – Lavender, Vineyards & Historic Villages
Provence represents the classic image of southern France. Lavender fields, vineyards, olive groves, and hilltop villages define the landscape, while Roman history and Mediterranean cuisine shape daily life. Driving a classic Mercedes-Benz SL through Provence means open roads lined with cypress trees, quiet villages, and endless scenic viewpoints.
The Camargue – Wild Southern France
The Camargue is one of Europe’s most distinctive wetlands, known for flamingos, white horses, and vast salt marshes. Located between the two arms of the Rhône River, the region feels completely different from inland Provence and offers some of the most atmospheric roads of the journey.
Monaco & the Côte d’Azur
The French Riviera has attracted artists, royalty, racing drivers, and celebrities for generations. Nice, Cannes, and Monaco combine Mediterranean scenery with historic elegance and grand hotels. Coastal roads above the sea make the Côte d’Azur one of Europe’s great classic car touring destinations, especially in a vintage Mercedes-Benz SL.
Grasse – The World Capital of Perfume
Perfume production has defined Grasse for centuries. Jasmine, roses, and orange blossoms once grown in the surrounding hills supplied many of the world’s great fragrance houses. Today, the town remains closely linked to luxury craftsmanship and Provençal culture.
Provençal Cuisine
Southern French cuisine is rooted in regional ingredients and Mediterranean simplicity. Olive oil, herbs, seafood, garlic, tomatoes, and local wines shape the flavors of Provence. Specialties along the route include bouillabaisse, daube provençale, aioli, and traditional Provençal desserts.
