Our guests are curious, passionate, and value authentic experiences, whether they are seasoned classic car enthusiasts or first-time drivers discovering the magic of vintage motoring on Europe’s most beautiful roads.
Do I need experience with classic cars to join a tour?
Not at all. Every tour is carefully curated to be enjoyable for both experienced drivers and newcomers. Before each journey, our team provides a thorough introduction to the vehicles and ongoing support throughout the trip, so you can focus on the drive, the scenery, and the experience.

Where do the tours take place?
Nostalgic tours explore some of Europe’s most iconic destinations, including Italy, Provence, the Alps, and other legendary driving regions. Each route is chosen for its scenery, road quality, cultural richness, and the pure joy it offers behind the wheel.

How do I register?
Please select your desired tour, date, and enter your email and address as requested, then accept our Terms & Conditions and click ‘book’. You will receive an automated response confirming receipt of your registration request. The booking confirmation will be emailed to you (pls make sure to check your spam folder) on the next working day following your booking, along with instructions on deposit payment. Your travel documents, including on-site contact details, are sent approximately two weeks before departure.
What is the cost?
Prices vary by destination and duration, please check on the tour you are interested in. Quoted prices are per person based on two people sharing a car, and a room. Rate for guests traveling solo is quoted price +50%, they will drive solo. Supplements for guests sharing a car but not sharing rooms vary by destination, please enquire.
We are three of us at the party. Can we use one car?
Unfortunately not, it is 2 people per car, no additional passengers are possible.
We’re two guests, but only one wants to participate in the program.
Unfortunately, this will not be possible.
Can I bring my pet?
Our apologies, but this will not be possible.
Is this type of experience attractive for children?
We would recommend a minimum age of 16.
Is it possible to only rent a classic car without booking a trip?
We are reluctant this will not be possible.
Am I in a group all the time?
No, you spend most of the time alone with your partner with whom you booked this trip. You will meet your fellow travelers at the briefing to get to know each other and at the (2-3) meals included in the travel price. In the case of visits, wine tasting or similar, which are provided in the program, they take place in the group. The entire driving portion of the trip belongs to you and your partner alone.
Can I also book the Mercedes-Benz trip from my Mercedes dealer?
Yes, this is possible, there is no price difference in doing so.
How much is the deposit for a trip?
A deposit of 20% of the tour rate is required at the time of registration to secure your booking. Payment by credit card is available, guests will receive a paylink to a secure third-party banking website to proceed with payment.
When is the remaining balance due?
The remaining balance must be received 30 days before the trip start date.
Are my deposits safe?
As a tour operator, Nostalgic maintains insolvency insurance in line with legal requirements. Together with your booking confirmation you will receive a security certificate that protects your deposit with Nostalgic.
How do I withdraw from the contract?
To cancel your booking, please notify Nostalgic by email at team@nostalgic.de and your cancellation will be confirmed back to you
Can I get a refund if I cancel my booking?
Your booking is binding, and cancellations fees are in place to ensure that all our tours are taking place regardless of the moment or reason, one or more guests cancel their booking(s). Please remember to take appropriate travel cancellation insurance which will let you recover cancellation fees due in certain circumstances. Cancellation fees increase gradually towards the date of travel and are as follows:
- Up to 121 days before tour start: 30% of tour price
- From 120 to 30 days before tour start: 50% of tour price
- From 30 days before tour start: 90% of tour price
Is travel insurance included?
Travel insurance is not included. We strongly recommend purchasing your own travel insurance to cover cancellations, medical emergencies, and luggage damage or loss.
What kind of cars will I drive?
You will drive meticulously maintained vintage models, including the iconic Mercedes-Benz SL W113 ‘Pagoda’ and R107 Roadster, all classic Mercedes-Benz are swapped daily.
Do I need to know how to drive a manual transmission?
Many of the classic cars provided are automatic transmission. Basic proficiency of manual transmission is recommended to fully enjoy the experience.
Do I need an international driver’s license to participate?
Guests from not-EU countries may need an International Driving Permit, please check with your country’s rules. Typically, it can be obtained online for a small fee (e.g. AAA).
What if a car breaks down?
A support vehicle accompanies the group to handle any technical issues promptly. On top of that, on all tours there will be backup classic cars following the group. If your vehicle has an issue, a replacement will be provided promptly.
As a guest, will I be free to choose my favorite classic Mercedes-Benz?
It will not be possible to reserve a given classic car for the entire main tour; however, guests will be able to choose freely every day their Mercedes-Benz SL among those available. Tour hosts will ensure guests to drive both the W113 as well as R107 models.
What is the insurance excess damage waiver?
It is 2,500 € per damaging event.
What happens if I am incurring in a traffic fine during the drive?
A traffic fine incurred by our guests will be charged to him/ her. We are not responsible for, nor able to, appealing any such fine.
I just want to drive a very specific classic car, preferably for the entire trip. Can you guarantee that?
Please rest assured there will be a sufficient number of classic cars featured on our website. It is part of our philosophy that guests drive different classic models, and the tour hosts make sure this can happen.
Is travel insurance included?
Travel insurance is not included. We strongly recommend purchasing your own travel insurance to cover cancellations, medical emergencies, and luggage damage or loss.
Can I extend my stay?
Individual pre-arrival or extension stay will be possible. If the planned group transfer to/ from venue cannot be made, optional transfers may need be booked.
When should I book my flight for a Nostalgic tour?
Please do not book air travel before receiving a booking confirmation from Nostalgic. Nostalgic does not coordinate travel arrangements outside of the scheduled tour itinerary. You are responsible for booking your own flights and any additional travel before or after the tour.
We will be flying in earlier/ out later than the tour and making our own arrangements. Will a transfer still be available?
There is one group transfer included on arrival day and one on departure day. Your booking confirmation will provide exact pick-up time and location. All other transfers needed are optional.
Can I be picked up from/ dropped off at a hotel or train station instead of the airport?
Such service is optional and will be possible based on availability.
Will the classic cars come with GPS?
Nostalgic invests considerable time in developing scenic routes. Guests are expected to navigate using a specific navigation app which will be shared with all participants beforehand. Please ensure having a smartphone with you and that app installed. Classic cars will come with phone mounts and power banks.
Can I drive my own route?
Our recommended route is part of the overall experience. Besides being best-practice scenic roads, following the suggested route will ensure immediate assistance in case of a break down as the support flatbed follows the exact route.
How much driving time per day is involved?
Driving time varies depending on the tour selected. Typically, full-day drives are up to 250 kms (approx. 5 hrs net driving time) while half-day drives are around 80 kms (approx. 2 hrs. net driving time).
What happens in case of bad weather?
Tours operate rain or shine. In case of severe weather, alternative routes or activities may be arranged to ensure safety and enjoyment.
What happens if my classic car fails?
As part of the briefing at tour start, you will instructed how to handle such unforeseeable event. The team on site will reach you within shortest delay and either fix quickly or hand out a replacement classic car of same quality.
How many cars/ guests will take part in my trip?
For our guests, first and foremost, our experience guarantees carefree travel pleasure regardless of number of attendees. Groups average between 5 to 20 classic cars, in rare occasions could me slightly more.
Are the trips guided?
Yes, all tours are guided by English-speaking tour leaders and supported by a service team.

There are only some lunches/ dinners marked as included in the package price, what about the other lunches and dinners?
The meals mentioned as ‘included’ are pre-set menues (3 or 4 courses). All other catering, guests will be free to select their favorite please or rely on a recommendation given by Nostalgic. Meal transfers are optional.
What happens to my luggage during the tour?
Luggage does not travel in classic cars. It will be taken care of Nostalgic throughout the tour.
How many people are in each group?
Groups are kept small and intimate to ensure a personalized experience and camaraderie among participants. Although size is not specifically limited, please do not expect more than a dozen classic cars on average per group.
Do you accommodate food allergies or special dietary needs?
Yes, we do our best to accommodate food allergies and special dietary requirements during our tours. If you have specific needs, please email us at team@nostalgic.de with your request prior to your trip. Our team will work with local partners to ensure your meals are safe and enjoyable.
